Name: Matt Senne
Title: General Manager
Background: I have worked for Leighton Broadcasting my entire career which started in St Cloud at
Wild Country 99. I was a member of the morning show for 18 years and an Operations Manager for 10 of those years.
I graduated from Princeton (not the university), Brown College and St Cloud State University.
My love of sports brought me into the world of radio thinking I’d be the next play-by-play voice of the Twins. After 3 years of traveling the road in minor league baseball I decided that morning show radio was for me. I did that while being elevated to Program Director my first year and really loved the management side of radio. I became the Operations Manager for our St Cloud cluster in 2005 and then the Director of Programming in 2014.
Why you love your work: It’s about the connection you feel with listeners and advertisers. Since I came from the on-air side of radio I love the emotional connection that radio makes with their listeners. When you see the relationship come to fruition and your listeners start going to your advertisers you know you did your job.
